What does it mean to sing a new song?

What do you think of when you hear the word worship?  To some people worship may be a physical act or words of admiration.  There are many ways to show God your love and respect.  One way I show him my devotion is through song.  The Bible gives us insight into worship through singing.

Sing to the Lord a new song - Isaiah 42:105 Scriptures on Singing His Praises

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.  Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise.
Psalm 95:1 (ESV)

Psalm 98:1 (NIV)

What does it mean to sing a new song to the Lord?

I looked up the word New in Hebrew (chadash) – It means fresh, renewed.
The word new in Ezekiel 11:19 is the same Hebrew word used in Isaiah 42:10, it states “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you” (KJV).   God loves doing a new thing and renewing our body, soul, and spirit.  When we sing Him a new song we are worshiping and praising Him but at the same time we are renewing our minds and souls by remembering the great things He has done.
