Today in church the word “always” stuck out to me. What does always really mean? According to Websters dictionary it means: at all times, forever, in every event. When someone makes a promise and says “I will always _______ (love you, provide for you, take care of you, feed you, etc.) that is a very steep promise! Here are some scriptures I looked up that use the word always….
And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:6-7
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:14
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8
Although I’ve read these scriptures before, I am reminded that our God is great and mighty! He is forever with us, he always leads us in triumph, and he always provides! WOW. Not only that, God’s perfect love always protects (covers us, shields us), always trusts (firm belief, commitment), always hopes (expectation with confidence), and always perseveres (WINS!).
