Pregnancy Update: 20 Weeks

Wow, I can’t believe I’m half-way through my second pregnancy. It seemed like the first trimester lasted forever. Now things are speeding up quickly! I don’t have an exact due date because the baby is measuring bigger than what my LMP would indicate.  I actually kind of like this, it takes the pressure off. Our first daughter was 13 days late and I remember anxiously counting down the days. Now I have estimates instead of an exact due date. Who actually gives birth on their “due date” anyway?

So let’s get to it.

How am I feeling?

The tiredness of the first trimester has worn off. There are some days where I still feel sleepy, but I don’t have to nap every day like I did in the first trimester. I am still experiencing random waves of nausea. When I start to feel sick to my stomach it is usually triggered by smells. Physically, my belly has definitely popped in the last few weeks. It seems sooner than it did with Izzy, but I think that is normal the second time around? 

What am I craving? 

I’m craving pineapple, raspberries, and spicy food. All along I’ve thought ‘we are having a boy’, but if cravings are an indicator then maybe it points to us having another girl. My cravings are almost exactly the same as my first pregnancy.  

How I’m changing?

I can feel the baby kick! I love feeling the little flutters in my stomach. I’m definitely wearing maternity clothes now although I do still wear my pre-pregnancy yoga pants. 

What am I looking forward to?

I can’t wait to find out if we are having a boy or girl. Our appointment is next week, so hopefully baby cooperates. Last time we used a gender reveal riddle to share our baby’s gender with family and friends. This time around I want to do something fun and creative again, but I can’t think of anything! I’ve been searching Pinterest yet nothing is popping out at me. Have any ideas to share with me?
