Love Letters from God

love letters from god

Love Letters from God written by Glenys Nellist and illustrated by Sophie Allsopp is an interactive and captivating children’s book. Throughout the book Biblical stories are told through letters from God. Each page has a lift-the-flap section which many children will love. This book is aimed at kids ages 4 through 8 years old. At the end of the book children are given a chance to write their own love letter to God.

The illustrations are beautiful and the hardcover book is filled with many stories from the Bible. I love that it includes scripture, a story and a personal love letter from God on each page. I noticed a few things as I looked through the book. The stories from the old testament are almost written in a fairy tale tone. We believe the Bible is God’s spoken word and historical truth. The tone of the stories in this book may be confusing to some children. If you read the Bible’s version and compare it to the story then it may be a good lesson for children. Even with this minor critique, I think it’s an adorable book that captures the Love of Christ throughout its pages.

What are your thoughts on stories about the Bible?

How do you explain the truth versus fantasy with your children?
