Someone recently asked me why I named my blog “Heart of Deborah.” I realized that I never created a post to explain this! So here it goes. Deborah’s story in the Bible can be found in Judges 4 and 5. As described in these chapters Deborah was a prophetess, a judge, and a mother. The thing I love the most about her story is the fact that she was a strong woman. However, she did not overpower or degrade other people because of this. Instead, she held on to the grace of a woman. Deborah’s heart reminds me of Matthew 10:16, be wise a serpent, but gentle as a dove. She was strong in her convictions and was a mother yet leader in her time. I love that she was both (strong and gentle; mother and warrior). There are many women in the Bible who I can relate to, but I have felt a special connection with Deborah’s story.
Who is your favorite woman in the Bible?
