Happy New Year: Proverbs Challenge

Happy New Year! I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone. There are so many great things in store and I am excited to see how God is going to use us for His purposes in this new year.

I’ve never been a big fan of New Year’s resolutions. I don’t know why but I guess I think they don’t work? Or maybe I’m just not good at keeping them! Although I don’t love resolutions I do believe in setting goals and seeking what God has for you in a new year.

So this year I decided to do something different. Instead of a New Year’s Resolution I gave myself a challenge.

This year I’m going to read one proverb a day for the whole month of January. Did you know there are 31 proverbs? It’s perfect because there are 31 days in January.

It’s an easy commitment and something I can stick to. So to start the year off on the right foot I’m challenging myself to soak in God’s words and wisdom through the proverbs. Will you join me?

Every time I read Proverbs I am amazed at the wisdom and knowledge written down thousands of years ago. It is still relevant to us today.

  1. I did this for 2013, and LOVED IT. I’m going to get back to it this year too – It’s my favorite challenge. It’s like the proverbs change month to month, like the living word breathes and changes every single time. Love. It.
