Frozen Yogurt Blueberries

Our family is always looking for healthy snacks. My husband and I both have a sweet tooth so we need to be extra careful! We also try to stay away from added sugar when possible. So many “snacks” have so much processed sugar and wheat.

This recipe is a perfect solution! Sweet yet a healthy whole food snack. And if I’m being honest I’d still like to lose a few pregnancy pounds so I’m trying to find snacks that taste good and aren’t bad for you.

I recently saw this post from Family Fresh Meals about frozen greek yogurt blueberries. I was intrigued! Follow my healthy snacks board on Pinterest for more great food ideas.

As I’ve said before we use plain yogurt in our house. We try to avoid any added sugar so I knew I would have to make some modifications to the recipe.

Here is what I came up with:

First, rinse off your blueberries.

Then place your blueberries with a generous scoop of plain yogurt in a bowl. I also added a dash of cinnamon. I know some people use a tooth pick to dip the blueberries in the yogurt.

To be honest I wanted to make a quick recipe and I felt I could cover it well enough with just a spoon.

Then place the dipped blueberries on parchment paper and place in the freezer for 1 hour.

Keep in the freezer and pop them in your mouth as needed!

Even our 1 year old loved this recipe. I made sure I gave her small blueberries or cut them in half. She loves fruits and vegetables, but I love this recipe because it adds a little bit of protein and calcium to her diet. Who knew frozen yogurt blueberries could be so tasty?

  1. ooh I am definitely going to try this!
But I guess in stead of using parchment paper you could also use ice cube molds, which will maybe invade less space ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I was just thinking the same thing. I have just used the ice molds for strawberries and melted chocolate. I think this might be a bit healthier.
