First Day of Preschool

I can’t believe we have a preschooler! It seems like just yesterday our sweet baby girl was born. Last week, Izzy had her first day of preschool. We have been prepping her for a long time and I’d say overall it was a success. I really liked how her school had an orientation the night before. We were able to go in the classroom with her and play with some of the toys. She was a little hesitant at first, but when we left she had a huge smile on her face. She was also excited to see Dory and Nemo on the classroom door.

Confession: I took pictures the night before her first day! I wasn’t sure how the morning would go and I wanted to ensure I documented her first school experience. Thankfully the morning went smoothly and we all looked presentable when we left the house at 9 AM. I was so proud of Izzy and she shed no tears! When we picked her up she said “Mom I didn’t cry!” So sweet.

Another confession, I don’t like change and I’m emotional! So as we walked out of the school I was thankful to have my sunglasses as tears welled up in my eyes. IJ was in the baby carrier and he seemed to sense my emotion. He gave me a sweet hug and all was okay in the world. We are so excited for Izzy’s new adventures! As part of this new experience, we had so much fun choosing her first day of school outfit. Do you plan certain outfits and document back to school with photos?

How adorable is this owl backpack from Garnet Hill? It’s the perfect size for Izzy and she loves snapping the buckle on the front. I just love the pattern and the playful colors. The night of her orientation Izzy wore a Janie and Jack dress and the day of she wore a fun stripped dress from Boden.

Lastly, I made this sign for Izzy to hold (she wasn’t really into holding it) and I’d love to share it with you! Download the preschool version here and download the school version here.

  1. She looks just darling! I’m so glad that she had a great experience! My daughter started Preschool this year and has loved it, although every time I ask her what her favorite part of the day was she always answers, “snack and playing outside”, lol.
